🎲Roll➕Make👉🏻Love Bug♥️

As we have stepped into the month of February we made some valentine special activities at home.. one of which was to make a DIY card for our love Bug (Dada). So to make the love bug and also to learn some basic math concepts of numbers we included dice 🎲 to help 😎

Materials Required:

  • Cardstock paper/ any paper which is thick (any Color of your little ones choice)
  • Pipe Cleaners (Color of your choice)
  • Scissor
  • Pencil
  • Hole punch
  • Googley eyes 👀
  • Strong Glue

The Making:

  • At first draw the love bug sample on a sheet of paper for a model to guide your little ones while making their own love bug

  • Draw and cut the shape of the heart (2) on a cardstock paper (can even use white thick paper and let your little ones to Color it) and keep it aside

  • Write your message(of your choice) on one heart as shown below

(Hole punch tool is used when making the legs and arms and also cut the pipe cleaners for mouth, nose, hands, legs and antennas)

  • Place the other heart shape from the cardstock paper along with the materials required and Invite your little ones to roll the dice + count the dots + see the model paper 👉🏻 make their love bug 😎

[It was so fun for him as he kept on rolling the dice since the number kept repeating for a very long time… 😁

Finally he made his love bug!! Then… ]

  • Glue one side of the made love bug on the (message written) heart as shown below 👇🏻

Thus our very own Love Bug card was ready to be given.. and also which was super special as it helped in Number Recognition by practising his Counting skills, Build his Fine Motor Coordination and Thinking Skill when he matched and determined which parts of the body to be made.

👉🏻DIY Parking Game🏎

💁🏻‍♀️ At our home We have a car fiend who loves to play with the cars all the time.. hence to make the play into a fun learning via playing.. mommy made this fun game of matching the cars in their numbered parking area by counting the dots on the cars.. 😉

Materials Required:

  • Cardboard box (shallow)
  • Paper
  • Cellophane tape (clear)
  • Pencil
  • Cars (any.. here we have used Hot Wheels)
  • Scissor

The Making:

  • Take a shallow cardboard of your choice and make an opening by cutting off one edge for the cars to drive in on the ramp made (you can even use A4 sheet paper if cardboard box is not available means) and draw grid of parking areas as shown below and write the numbers of your choice on each grid 👇🏻

  • Take piece of white paper draw dots of the corresponding numbers written on the grid and tape it onto the hot wheels (or cars of your choice) as shown below 👇🏻

  • Place the dotted hot wheels and parking lot cardboard (or paper) on a flat surface and invite your little car lover to count the dots on the car and park the car on their corresponding numbered parking grid as shown below 👇🏻

Baby Moo loved the game of lining up his cars in order in their parking lot 😎 (He even made mommy to make it extra special by naming his parking lot 😁)

It was indeed a fun playing cum learning hands on activity for the little one to enhance their number recognition skills.. 😉

Extended Activity:

We also made Name and Alphabets recognition activity using the above said game 😎
