🏝Sorting Animal Habitat🏝

By ChennaiMom
“A Venn diagram is a diagram that shows all possible logical relations between a finite (limited) collection of different sets”.
Hence they are the perfect way to introduce problem solving activities to your little ones. Here we have used the above said concept to understand and differentiate the habitats of the Animal kingdom.
Materials Required:
  • Animal Figure Sets (sea,land)
  • Felt sheets/cardstock paper (blue,green,yellow Color)
  • Pencil
  • A4 sheet/ any normal paper
  • Scissor

The Making:

  • Draw circle using a plate(size of your choice preferably a big one) on the felt sheet(green, blue) such that the circles overlap each other as shown below to form a oval shape in the middle and cut out that oval shape from another felt sheet(yellow color)

  • Glue all the three together to form the shape of the Venn diagram as shown below

  • Place the animal toys next to the Venn diagram and invite your little one to do some sorting by explaining to them that blue indicates water/ocean and green indicates land and the yellow indicates all the things that can live both on land and water 😎

  • It was fun to know about the habitation of the animals with some math skills through the hands on way of learning 😎

[This can be made in more simpler way by just drawing the Venn diagram on a paper and let your little ones to learn and sort. But we made it using felt sheets just for durability as we can reuse as many times as we wish.. Here, it became like a play-mat for my little one]

Make this sorting activity at home and have fun learning about the animal habitats my lovelies 😍
